Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression
It has been has shown that with bulging or herniated discs (something your MRI or CT scan would show), NSSD can lower the pressure inside the disc. This negative pressure may then draw or retract the displaced disc material more towards the center of the disc and away from your nerves. For many patients this can mean long term pain relief because a compressed nerve is an irritated nerve. If the pressure on the nerve is released, it can begin to heal.
Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is designed to restore mechanical function to the vertebral complex, and assist the body's natural ability to heal. If the disc can be moved even a small amount away from the nerve, this can be enough to decrease inflammation and irritation. More studies would be helpful to fully understand exactly why patients can improve when they receive this type of treatment, and which types of disc problems respond the best. NSSD has also shown to reduce or eliminate pain associated with degenerative spinal discs.

Degenerative Conditions
As part of the aging process, the vertebrae in your neck and back will wear out over time; thus, causing pain or discomfort.
Rheumatoid Arthritis
RA is a disease that causes the body's immune system to attach its healthy tissue. Over time RA will cause inflammation that can destroy the facet joints in the spine, causing the inability to flex, bend or twist.
Disc Herniation
The Nucleus Pulposus seeps out of the Annulus Fibrosis via a tear, causing a bulging or a herniated disc.
Injuries
A car accident, sports injury, or fall can cause spinal cord compression.
Bone spurs
The vertebrae will move closer together and start forming bone spurs. Bone spurs will cause stiffness and narrowing of the spinal canal. Also known as osteophytes.
Tumors
Whether cancerous or benign (noncancerous), tumors sometimes grow in the space near the spinal cord. They may put pressure on the spinal cord, causing compression and pain.
